Individual & Family Health Insurance
Your health is important, and so is your healthcare plan. But there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healthcare. Your needs and financial situation are unique to you. At Freitas Wealth Management Group, we offer multiple healthcare options to fit both the specific needs of your family and your budget.
Available Health Plans
Affordable Care Act Plans (Obamacare)
ACA offers affordable healthcare for individuals and families. These plans are designed to help you stay healthy every day while also offering the support and protection you need during significant health events. More than 80 percent of ACA customers are eligible for financial assistance that reduces premiums. Those same customers can typically purchase coverage for $100 or less per month after tax credits.
Short-Term Health Plans
Short-Term health plans provide valuable coverage during times of transition when you are not covered by a traditional health plan, ensuring you can pay unexpected healthcare costs. These short-term plans offer coverage for periods as short as 30 days. In some instances, the plan may be renewable for as many as 36 months. Since they are intended to fill gaps between traditional health plans and not designed to provide longer-term coverage, these plans have restrictions, including underwriting requirements, no coverage for pre-existing conditions, and are not ACA compliant.
Short-term health plans may be the right fit for your current needs if:
- You missed the deadline for Open Enrollment and don't qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
- You started a new job and benefits do not begin immediately.
- You’re a college student or recent graduate, or you turned 26 and can no longer be listed as a dependent on your parents’ insurance plan.
- You recently lost your job and don’t want to use COBRA insurance.
Hospital Indemnity Plans
Accidents and major illnesses are never planned for and the medical costs associated with them can drain your savings and max out your credit cards. In some instances, your primary medical insurance may not cover all of the costs associated with surgeries, hospital stays, ambulance trips, and many other expenses. These costs can be even most significant depending on your healthcare plan’s co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs.
In response, hospital indemnity plans provide a fixed benefit that provides much-needed cash in the unforeseen event you or your designee are laid up with growing expenses. These benefits can be paid daily, weekly, or monthly. This type of cash-benefit coverage does not replace major medical insurance, but it may help you with unanticipated costs that your regular insurance doesn’t cover.
Dental & Vision Insurance
Health insurance plans don’t cover routine or unplanned dental or vision care. We work with multiple carriers and can help you find the best coverage for your family’s needs and budget, helping your eyes, teeth, and gums to stay healthy.
